True to LHG’s motto of “Build People, Build Business”, we are answering the call for a new landmark in Nusajaya. What better way to achieve that by stamping a piece of architectural statement that can be recognized instantly by anyone who drive by the LHG Auto Complex.

The aim for the architectural design of this project is to go beyond the conventional outlook of an automotive showroom yet maintaining the brand identity. We strive to provide one grand gesture that attracts the attention from afar and transforming interestingly during approach with a different scale. The brand identity is amicably infused into our architectural design besides prioritizing the needs of all our privileged customers.

LHG Auto Complex Building

The building façade feature is shaped in a way that it welcomes everyone into the showroom and service center. It’s a dynamic feature that is relevant to the other showrooms, seen from the busy highway from a distance. It comes to life, looks hip and cool, as one gets closer to the building by walking. The facade itself works as a canopy that protects the visitors from rain and sun, besides being an inviting framework, setting the image of the interior that is completely see through the glass facade externally, especially in the daytime.

The exclusive dark grey metal deck was chosen to clad the building with a touch of groove line detailing bringing the entire architecture to life under the changing angle of the sun’s orientation. Besides, a flare of rustic contemporary feel is added in to spice up the contrast towards the original modern volume. At the same time, it delivers the modern image of what an automotive showroom should have. Each automotive showroom leads visitors to a prominent entrance faced with a screen that glows softly during the night. It was shaped harmoniously giving a fresh breath of air onto the facade feature. By introducing skylight windows inviting natural lighting, the entire interior spatial typology is being opened with transparency, while passive ventilation has been maximized in creating a sustainable working environment for the staff members.

The building tapers at both ends reaching towards and engaging its immediate surroundings. Despite being set under similar material, each brand’s identity are being celebrated respectively. The front portion of each building containing the service center is characterized by the bold appearance of dark grey wall elements. Housing the exhibition area where the car showroom is located, the facade is defined by its light stretched metal facade with full height display windows. The corrugated profile of the metal creates an interesting play of shadow casting over the course of a day. During daylight, the showcased cars are reflected as the limelight. In the after hours, when internal light starts to permeate through the facade, the whole exhibition space becomes perceptible.

In short, these showrooms deliberately downplay quantity, unlike the more common “aquariums” which are flooded with cars, this piece of architectural masterpiece is carefully framed to showcase the features of its automobile. It is a showroom that peaks the curiosity of its visitors as well as those driving by this new portal to the city of Johor.
